DARRAN ROLLS
Darran Rolls directs the continued development and communication of SailPoint’s technology strategy and vision. His long history in information security has helped SailPoint emerge as a company to be reckoned with in every area of identity management – from compliance and governance, to role management and role engineering, to user life cycle management and provisioning. He believes the key to that success has been finding the balance between striving to be a market-leading innovator and acting pragmatically to make sure clients’ needs are met.
Rolls works with the various teams within SailPoint to create identity governance technology that’s not only flexible and extensible, but also that successfully transforms technical and security data into meaningful information for business users. For its pioneering work around business-centric identity governance, SailPoint has been recognised by industry analysts and technology publications over the past several years, a source of great pride for Rolls.
As a respected contributor to several international standards initiatives, Rolls has been directly involved in the current working group process and development of the specification for Simple Cloud Identity Management (SCIM), which aims to improve connectivity, manageability and governance for SaaS and cloud-based applications. Prior to that, he served as chair of the Oasis Provisioning Services Technical Committee and led development of the Service Provisioning Markup Language (SPML) Specification.
Before joining SailPoint, Rolls worked in the CTO’s office at Sun Microsystems and led strategic technology and industry standards initiatives at Waveset Technologies. Prior to Waveset, Rolls served in senior technical leadership positions at enterprise software companies including IBM/Tivoli Systems, PointOne Telecommunications and DBMX.
