Diamond Thopola

Diamond grew up playing soccer in the dusty streets of Polokwane before he started to take the sport seriously. After matriculating, Thopola joined Birch Acres FC before moving on to Berea Albion where he featured in the Vodacom League. While captaining Thanda Royal Zulu, Diamond moved to Chippa United and became captain there as well before joining Orlando Pirates. In the player’s words, playing for the Buccaneers is “every player’s dream” and he feels great pleasure and responsibility in representing the Club.

Admiring icons like Lucas Radebe, Thiago Silva and Dani Alves, Diamond hopes to one day write his own history in the books of South African football.

Off the pitch, Dyzer enjoys spending time with his family and friends indoors. Thopola aims to further his studies and prepare for life after football.
