Dineo Seleke

Dineo Seleke, Manager Marketing and Communications joined Botswana Power Corporation on May 2016. She  manages the Corporation’s Internal and External Communications, network the Corporation with critical stakeholders and ensure brand visibility. She is also responsible for the overall media management, public relations and implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility program for the Corporation.

Before joining the BPC Team, Ms. Seleke worked as Executive Coordinator for the Chief Executive Office at National Development Bank of Botswana, a role which developed and exposed her management of high net worth stakeholders. Within the role Seleke was responsible for the implementation of the CEO’s Public Relations plan, Government Relations, Query Resolution as well as Monitoring of the Corporate Score Card Performance for purpose of organisational improvement.

Ms. Seleke has gained experience in Photovoltaic Solar projects through her role as Regional Manager for BPC Lesedi- Maun Office, a subsidiary that was formed by Government to extend alternative electrification to areas which were not connected to the grid as part of the Rural Electrification program. She was responsible for the management of franchisees and technical support, advising the organisation on the regional demands for PV solutions and management of regional stakeholders.

Dineo has served as Marketing and Communications Officer for SPEDU Regional Development Agency, an economic diversification unit that was set by the Government to coordinate the development other sectors of the economy besides mining in order to sustain the SPEDU Region. Her role was to package and promote the SPEDU Region for potential investment, Manage Stakeholder Relationships including the Media and ensure that the SPEDU brand was communicated and visible across the Region and beyond. She liaised with different communities within the Region, communicating the SPEDU mandate and opportunities for investment by locals in the area.

Dineo has been involved in the HIV/AIDS Men’s and Youth Prevention programs under Tebelopele Non-Government Organisation where she served as a Senior Programmes Officer. Her role was to oversee the administration of Youth HIV prevention program called Youth Against Aids and the Zebras For Life Test For Life men’s program. These programs she led and administered diligently and notable results were achieved as per the USA PEPFAR reports for the years 2008 to 2009.

Ms. Seleke has been amongst the renowned Broadcast Journalists at the Mass Media Complex. She has made impact across the country’s airwaves as Radio Journalist and Presenter on Radio Botswana and Molemo Wa Kgang Talk Program. She was able to develop and sharpen her interview skills and was able to undertake interviews and conversations with the Country’s leadership during State Live Broadcasts such as the State of The Nation Address, Official Opening of the Legal Year and Independence Celebrations. She anchored radio youth development programs namely Lentswe la Monana and A Re Bueng talk program.
Before joining the Department of Broadcasting Services, Dineo has gained experience as a Print Freelance Journalist with CBET – Botswana Guardian/MidWeek Sun newspapers. She had also served in the Advertising and Media Agencies, Horizon Ogilvy and Native Impressions where she served as Media Executive and Account Executive Accordingly.
