Dorothy Judy Okatch (Dot)
Dot is a social worker by profession, has a degree in social work, and is studying for her Master’s in Social Work in the stream of Social Policy and Administration. She currently works at an NGO in Botswana called Stepping Stones International (SSI) as the coordinator of the leadership program. This program aims to assist out-of-school and unemployed youth to return to school, find employment, start their own businesses, identify and nurture their talents, and to expose them to various skills and knowledge. Dot is one of the initiators of the Pay it forward sponsorship scheme, and founder of the Guardian Angel Mentoring program. Upon return to Botswana, she intends to draft a curriculum on business and entrepreneurship for the SSI leadership program. As the first international basketball referee in Botswana, she would like to introduce wheelchair basketball and start a private substance abuse rehabilitation facility, upon her return.
