Dr. Allegro Dinkwanyane
Dr. Allegro Dinkwanyane is a South African born entrepreneur, media personality and philanthropist. She is the Founder and Group CEO of Orgella Group which currently houses nine entities including Orgella Communications, Orgella Events and women empowerment platform Boss Chiq SA. Allegro launched the first entity of her group company, entertainment blog Orgella Entertainment in October 2011 at the age of 21, followed by PR & Marketing Agency Orgella Communications. To date, she is hailed as one of the youngest and successful owners of a 100% black female-owned company in South Africa.
Orgella Group has also launched and invested in non-media businesses namely Orgella Properties and OrgellaFoods. In 2017, aged 27 Allegro was listed on the prestigious Forbes Africa“30 Under 30”, cementing her as a young force to be reckoned with in the businessworld.
Aside from her impressive entrepreneurship journey, Allegro is quite the academic achiever too and shows no signs of slowing down. In 2009 she enrolled with theUniversity of Johannesburg through which she obtained a BA Journalism Degree (majoring in Communications & Philosophy). She went on to further her studies at the University of Cape Town where she obtained a Social Media & Digital Marketing qualification. In June 2023, Allegro was conferred with an Honourary ‘Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration’ Doctorate Degree from Prowess University, Delaware, USA.
Before becoming fully self-employed in 2014, Allegro freelanced at TRACE Urban & TRACESport Stars as a Journalist, PR Manager, Social Media Manager, and Interviews Manager from 2012 and resigned in 2014 to focus solely on her growing media company. Her experience as a Publicist, Journalist & Blogger has earned her a great reputation in the SouthAfrican media and entertainment industry as well as across Africa.
In 2013, her entertainment website Orgella Entertainment was nominated at the 2013 Africa Social Media Awards. For someone who first started her career shadowing well-known TV and radio presenters at the SABC, and going on to intern at the BBC (Africa), Allegro has made her mark in South Africa and continues to remain consistent and dedicated to leading an inspired and purposeful life.
In 2017 she was listed on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and in 2021 she was named as one of the Top 200 Young South Africa’s by the Mail & Guardian.
The University of Johannesburg honoured her as the first person to grace the cover of the UJ Alumni magazine as one of the most successful alumni making waves in her industry.
In December 2015 Forbes Woman Africa recognised as one of Africa’s youngest female media business owners on the rise. Adding to her already impressive list of accolades, Allegro was also a finalist for the 2017 Business Women’s Association of South Africa Regional Business Achiever Awards. Allegro is passionate about giving back to the community, especially young people whom she believes with the right resources and motivation; can make their dreams come true and help make the world a better place. Her NPO charity foundation Orgella Helping Hands hosts annual events around South Africa from feeding and clothing the orphaned, homeless and underprivileged, to inspiring young people through motivational talks and education, career/business seminars.
Allegro also runs a women empowerment and networking platform “Boss Chiq SA” which exists to inspire women from all walks of life to be better leaders in all aspects of their lives, from hosting entrepreneurship masterclasses, to in person empowerment & networking events and one-on-one business coaching sessions, Allegro is determined to leave a great impact in the lives of women seeking change and inspiration.
