Dr Jairo Arrow
Dr Jairo Arrow was appointed deputy director-general in 2005. He holds a PhD Mathematical Statistics, a BSc degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Khartoum/American University of Beirut, and a MSc in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Bremen.
Dr Arrow joined Statistics South Africa in 1997 as a director: Economic Statistics and in 2001 was appointed executive manager: Methodology and Standards.In 2008 he served as an executive secretary for the 57th session of the International Statistics Institute in Durban.
Dr Arrow’s professional experience also includes a senior lectureship in the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of the North from 1994 to 1996.
Dr Arrow has published various publications and papers.
