Dufie Adu-Pakoh

Dufie Adu-Pakoh has over ten years of experience in biodiversity conservation and water resources management in Ghana. Currently, Dufie is the first and only female Basin Officer of the Water Resources Commission where she leads in the operations and implementation of strategies towards sustainable management and use of water resources in the Basin. She is also the Captain of the Girls’ Brigade in her community where she trains young girls practical skills in home management and instills habits of discipline, obedience, and self-respect. Dufie Adu-Pakoh holds a Master’s Degree in Natural Resources and Sustainable Environmental Management from the University of Greenwich, UK and currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Watershed Management. Dufie is motivated by a strong desire to contribute significantly to the conservation of Ghana’s water resources. She works on educating communities and schools in simple water quality monitoring exercises and creates public awareness on the need to protect water resources. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Dufie plans to share lessons learned while continuing to impact communities through education to embrace positive behavior change towards water resources management.
