Duncan stepped his first foot in the Music Industry, when he was featured by Zakwe on his Gold Selling Album, track titled Isukile. Months later Duncan recorded and shot a video for his street single titled Khayalami featuring Prokid, Redbutton, Zakwe & Musa. His street cred was built and a strong recognition across was received. Recently he was featured on Big Nuz latest offering “Made In Africa”.
Duncan’s single “Tsiki Tsiki” sampled from the legendary Mdu Masilela enjoyed high rotation on all television networks and urban radio stations before the release of his debut album titled “Street Government”.
His follow up single “Tsiki Tsiki Remix” Featuring AKA, Professor, Mampintsha topped iTunes singles charts upon two days of release earning the freshmen the number 10 spot on “Africa’s Top 10 MC’s 2014 list alongside continent’s mega super stars such as Ice Prince, Sarkodie, Casper Nyovest and AKA.
Street Government shot up iTunes albums charts upon release as fans waited for the release with bathed breath and the album is still iTunes top 5 best selling albums to date since it was released on the 29 August 2014.
Duncan’s third single “Mi Thatha” Ft Dj Tira also sampled from stable mate, DJ FISHERMAN’s “Happy Song” receives love from music fans of all genres since the song is a rare blend of dance and hip hop. The “Mi Thatha” Ft Dj Tira music video premiered on Channel O with more raving reviews. Duncan’s fans have proved that he is here to stay if STREET GOVERNMENT digital and physical sales are anything to go by.
The 18-track album features BIG NUZ, PROKID, KABOMO, ZAKWE and RED BUTTON and was produced by Durban hip hop architect Ngane Sikobi whom produced Zakwe’s gold selling album.
The Afrotainment first hip hop artist has received 6 nominations at the South African Hip Hop Awards for “Album Of The Year”, “Best Newcomer”, “Song Of The Year”, “Best Male”, “Lyricist Of The Year”, and “Best Digital Sales”.
