Duncan Mwangangi Matheka

Duncan Mwangangi Matheka has over five years of experience as a medical doctor based at Machakos Level 5 Hospital, Kenya. He is the hospital CME coordinator and oversees other medical officers. He is currently setting up the Machakos Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Recovery Center (SGBVRC). He is an enthusiastic researcher with over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He established Kenya’s first RHD patient support club in Nairobi and expanded the initiative in Duncan Mwangangi Matheka County. Duncan has also been running an annual youth mentorship forum in his rural community for the last nine years. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, he plans to continue mentoring and empowering the youth in his rural community, as well as ensure running SGBVRC and RHD clubs in Machakos county.
