Edwin Nchadze Lontum
Edwin Nchadze “Shey” Lontum is a Cameroonian economist and statistical analyst working for the budget department of the Cameroon Ministry of Finance. Here, he produces periodic reports and analysis on a range of policy issues concerning government revenue generation and expenditure, as well as responding to requests for information from various stake holders on a continuous basis. Concurrently, Shey leverages his analytical skills to support academic and corporate research in a variety of domains, and is strongly passionate about developing and implementing policies that help African countries grow and prosper in sustainable and inclusive environments.Shey believes that Africans are ultimately responsible for shaping their own destiny and for crafting their narrative. In this regard, he volunteered for one year with Africa Files as Communications Coordinator, where he managed the Infoserv section of the Africa Files website, reviewing and publishing content on topical and pertinent issues affecting Africa. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Economics, and conducts freelance research with special interest in the purview of industrial organization, presently focusing on the interactions among firms in oligopolistic markets, especially in technology-driven industries where the scope of strategic considerations and potential outcomes are constantly evolving.
