Edwin Shigwenya Madivoli
Edwin Shigwenya Madivoli has over three years’ experience in research and development. Currently, he holds a master’s degree in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. With the guidance of his mentors Professor Patrick Kareru and Professor Antony Gachanja, Edwin Shigwenya Madivoli is working to develop sanitary towels and wound dressings from agricultural biomass. Through research and development, Mr. Madivoli believes that he can spur growth through innovative ideas that are aimed at tackling the challenges facing his community. By developing innovative products, Mr. Madivoli believes that he can spur the development of small and medium enterprise that will address the rising unemployment in his country. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Mr. Madivoli plans to focus on chemistry research aimed at coming up with simple and innovative products.
