Elias Mphande

Elias was the national organising secretary of the Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers Union from 1990 to 1995. He subsequently served as CEO of AUTA (1996 – 2000), marketing director of Viamax Fleet Solutions, a subsidiary of Transnet (2001- 2005) and CEO of the Vukani Group (2006 – 2010). He served as chairman of Golden Arrow Bus Services for four years until 2010. He was appointed to the HCI Board in September 2010 as a non-executive director. He also serves on the board of Tsogo Sun Holdings, Vukani Gaming Corporation and eMedia Holdings. Elias was appointed as lead independent director of the company in March 2014‏.
