Elizabeth Nashitye Hamupembe
Elizabeth Hamupembe has over five years of experience working in the education sector in Namibia. She is currently a Chief Hostels Officer in the Directorate Programmes and Quality Assurance division of the Ministry of Education in Namibia. She is responsible for the management, administration, training and monitoring and evaluation of school hostels throughout the country. In addition, she oversees hostels policy advice, formulation, implementation, and review. Elizabeth Nashitye Hamupembe is currently studying to receive her master’s degree in Education at the University of Namibia, focusing on educational research, evaluation, and curriculum studies. Upon completion of the Washington Fellowship, she plans to further her work with the Ministry of Education by providing public management training workshops for education officials. She also plans to start a project that focuses on curbing teenage pregnancies among school going children, especially in the Kavango region where statistics are alarmingly high.
