Emma Odendaal
After studying English Literature and Psychology at the University of Cape Town, Emma cut her teeth in print media, editing lifestyle magazines for nearly a decade. Although her career was destined for digital, it was this grounding in high-quality editorial and storytelling that gave her a unique insight into content marketing and how to deliver the right content, to the right audiences on the right platforms.
Roles that followed included digital editor on the Pick n Pay account. Now Head of Digital Content, she focuses on creative strategy and content marketing across multiple accounts. Leading a talented team of editors, designers and multi-media content producers, she is responsible for microsites, video campaigns, newsletters, apps and more, winning accolades at the International Content Marketing Awards in London and the Pearl Awards in New York City.
She has a particular interest in emerging markets and enjoys nurturing new talent, having been a guest lecturer at AAA School of Advertising.
When Emma’s not producing engaging video content or conceptualising a social media strategy, you’ll find her travelling or eating at the newest hole-in-the-wall restaurant.
