Emmanuel Kofi Danso
Emmanuel Danso is a registered mental-health nurse with eight years’ experience. He currently promotes mental health in the Ayawaso district with Maamobi General Hospital, where responsibilities include health education, care of the mentally ill, and rehabilitation. He also coordinates quality assurance and improvement activities, and provides guidance and counseling in the hospital. Emmanuel Kofi Danso is a member of Junior Chamber International Ghana, Accra Royale, and volunteers for AFS Ghana, serving as the executive vice president and vice president (Accra chapter) respectively. After completing the Fellowship, he looks forward to advocating for private-government sector collaboration in the care of the mentally ill, and reducing the stigma attached to mental illness. He also hopes to create awareness and support people living with sickle cell disease. Emmanuel will earn an MPhil in Guidance and Counseling in November, and holds a BA Psychology with Political Science, and a diploma in Mental Health and Psychiatry Nursing.
