Ephraim Molingoana

Ephraim Molingoana a fashion designer and founder of Ephymol, a menswear fashion label that was formed in 2002, debuted its first collection at the 2002 South African Fashion Week, and has been showcased at SA Fashion Week ever since.

The Ephymol brand is known for bold, masculine tailoring and a unique approach to timeless lines. The brand is headed by Ephraim Molingoana, a Soweto born but QwaQwa, Free State raised international model and self-taught designer.

Ephraim enjoyed a sterling modelling career that saw him grace international billboards for brands like Diesel, and work in cities like Amsterdam, New York, Los Angeles, London and Istanbul, to mention a few. The era of the 90s saw Ephraim relocating to Istanbul in the quest to do further modelling, thus cultivating the new dawn of Ephraim, the designer.

Although the model-turned-designer was trained in Computer Sciences, Creative Directing and Copywriting from AAA School of Advertising, designing garments seemed a natural course for him.

Ephymol has showcased collections in China, including Shanghai Fashion Week in 2013, receiving great reviews. He was 2017’s successful candidate of the SAFW Cape Wools SA Designer Challenge and represented the country at the UK Wool Conference. He boasts several GQ Best Dressed awards, magazine features and covers and a string of A-list South African celebrities as clients.

The most recent collaboration the brand enjoyed was with the Grammy Award winning group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
