Esther Onyinyechi Mark
Esther Onyinyechi Mark has over six years’ experience in journalism and volunteering, specifically focusing on development journalism in areas of health, education, entrepreneurship, and women and children. Currently, Esther is the Content Development Editor at Scholars Hub Africa, an online opportunities portal for African students and Editor of Edufrica Media, an education-centered online media that provides reliable education news for Africans and a training ground for African students and campus reporters. Also, Esther is the Founder of Star Schools Education Initiative, a non-profit education consulting and mentoring organization where she focuses on initiating, designing, and implementing free education outreach and personal development programs for children, teenagers, and students in secondary schools in the northern region of the country with a team of volunteers. Esther Onyinyechi Markholds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Jos, Nigeria and is committed to contributing to Africa’s development through in-depth reportage of under-reported issues of importance to the continent and mentoring of young hearts. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Esther plans to expand the organization’s blueprint vision to accommodate more northern states and tertiary institutions of learning in Nigeria. She also hopes to implement more education friendly programs for teenagers and students, while digging for more solutions-driven journalistic stories in Africa.
