Eve Mvera Kazungu

Eve Mvera Kazungu holds a diploma in Broadcast Journalism and is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. Currently, she is a volunteer Journalist at Kenya News Agency where she writes about women living with disabilities. Eve Mvera Kazungu has over nine years of experience exposing the plight and championing for the rights and improved social welfare of her target group. She is a co-founder of a community-based organization known as Fimbo Youth Initiative (FYI) which deals with rescuing exploited girls, supporting their rights, providing custody and medical care. She also helps in empowering women living with disabilities through civic education on existing opportunities. Mvera is the pioneer of a network that explores issues affecting people living with disabilities and their possible mitigations. Mvera is driven by her passion and commitment to a fair and just society where these vulnerable persons will freely enjoy the Bill of Rights as enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she hopes to establish the MVERA foundation for defiled girls and women living with disabilities.
