Eyram Akofa Tawia

Eyram’s love for comics and games instilled his interest in game programming at an early age. Eyram Akofa Tawia co-founded LetiArts on his conviction that Africa will make a salient contribution to the world of games, a vacuum that Africa needs occupying to spark new professions and boosting Africa’s GDP. Eyram is currently CEO for LetiArts, which builds exciting games and comics based on historical African heroes and folklore to encourage younger generations learn and read about African history, thus reigniting Africa’s diminishing rich culture. LetiArts also builds serious games thatNGOs use for advocacy purposes in Ghana.Challenged with scarce African game development skill sets, he initiated an internship program that has trained over 150 students from junior to tertiary levels. Eyram published his biography ‘Uncompromising Passion: The Humble Beginnings of an African Video Games Industry’ documenting his journey, inspiring young Africans to tell their stories. Eyram Akofa Tawia holds a Computer Science degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with several recognitions for his contributions towards the African game industry, including ‘Most Heart for Africa’ an African Entrepreneurship Award in 2015.
