Faiza Abdulsamad (Faiz)
Faiza Abdulsamad has six years’ experience as a practicing lawyer. Currently, she is a state attorney at the Ministry of Justice and the Attorney-General’s Department, Kumasi where she prosecutes and defends cases for the state and offers legal advice to police prosecutors on how to effectively prosecute cases for the state. Faiza Abdulsamad also offers pro bono service to her community school where she teaches the students about human rights and has established an informal school where she teaches women how to read and write. Faiz holds a degree in law from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria and is a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Courts of Nigeria and Ghana, respectively. Upon completion of the Fellowship, she plans to ensure better management of the Ministry of Justice and continue her work empowering women so they can be liberated from domination and disrespect by men.
