Fati Abigail Abdulai
Since January 2013, Fati Abigail Abdulai has been the National Director of the Widows and Orphans Movement (WOM), a reputable non-governmental organization founded in 1993. Here, she is tasked with advocating for rights of widows and economically empowering women and young people. Fati is a dynamic young woman, whose passion is to contribute her share in ending injustices in her society. She does this by positively impacting the lives of others irrespective of challenging environments.Fati Abigail Abdulai contributes towards organizational objectives through innovation, intellectual and leadership capabilities, as well as developing herself.Fati has training from Ghana, the UK, and Canada in natural resources management, renewable energy, livelihoods and markets, voice and power, and accountable governance, among others. She has participated in many seminars, including the 54th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW54) in New York in 2010, which reviewed the Beijing Platform for Action (BPFA) 15 years after its implementation. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Fati plans to continue her work ensuring that vulnerable groups, particularly widows and orphans, live dignified lives.
