Francis Osei Bonsu

Francis Osei Bonsu has over three years of experience in development practice, specifically focusing on child development and welfare and community empowerment. Currently, Francis is the Head of Development at Mercy Project Ghana, where he focuses on formulating plans, processes, and procedures for freeing and the development of trafficked children as well as the economic empowerment of impoverished fishing communities. In the past, Francis has assisted in the implementation of the Mental Health and Development Project, which enabled people with epilepsy and mental illnesses have access to health care and basic human rights. Francis holds a bachelor’s degree in Development Planning. Francis is driven by the passion to contribute to poverty reduction and sustainable development and looks forward to zero incidences of child trafficking and child labor in the world. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Francis plans to continue his work in freeing trafficked children and empowering impoverished fishing communities. He also wished to introduce new plans to eradicate child labor.
