Francis Sandy Brewer Jr
Francis Sandy Brewer Jr is a currently a Liberian Media Trainer and a strong child advocate. With his 6 years of media development and civil society work experience, Francis Sandy Brewer Jr has noticed the importance of using the media to solve critical community problems. As a Project Officer at the Liberia Media Center in 2013, he won the African Innovative Laureate Award from the French Development Agency and in 2015 was trained by the Poynter Institute in Media Mentorship and Coaching.He is very passionate about early childhood development and runs a personal volunteer initiative called Smiling Kids Liberia, an organization mainly involved with keeping Liberian children off the street, especially during out of school hours, by keeping them busy with talents and skills and academic development. He has observed that his country is losing a lot of young due to drug abuse and, as far as he is aware, nothing is being done to prevent young people especially from been expose to drugs. Seeing this as a serious challenge, Francis wants to rescue potential victims through massive anti-drugs media campaign with improved strategies from the Fellowship.
