Frederick Lifangi-Ikomi Morfaw
Frederick Lifangi-Ikomi Morfaw has ten years’ experience in the Cameroonian civil service health sector. He is currently an obstetrician gynecologist at the Bamenda Regional Hospital Cameroon where he provides direct medical care to a vast population of pregnant women. His ambitions are to reduce to zero the maternal mortality, and prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV by involving the male partners. Within his community, he is a public health champion, carrying out health-related research and providing talks and community sensitization campaigns. Frederick Lifangi-Ikomi Morfaw holds an MD degree and a specialist degree from the University of Yaounde 1 Cameroon, as well as a Master’s in Public Health Research from the University of Edinburgh, UK. A fellow for Canadian HIV Trials Network 2011 International and the 2013 Emerging Voice for Global Health, he hopes that this Fellowship will enable him to better advocate for the health of pregnant women and prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
