Funani Josephine Matlatsi

Funani Josephine Matlatsi was appointed chief financial officer of the Department of Human Settlements in August 2011. She holds a national diploma in Commerce from Technikon North West and a BTech Management from the University of South Africa.

Funani Josephine Matlatsi is studying towards a Masters of Business Administration at MANCOSA. Her career in finance commenced at the Gauteng Department of Education in 1996. In 2005, she was employed by the Department of Transport as a director: finance, responsible for managing the finance component. In 2006, she joined the Department of Human Settlements as chief director: fund management operational budget and conditional grant.

In her new position she is responsible for supporting the accounting officer in terms of the responsibilities as outlined in the Public Finance Management Act.
