Gayheart Mensah
Gayheart Mensah has a 28-year experience in Journalism, Public Relations, Strategy Development, Stakeholder Management, Advocacy, CSR, Project Communications and Media Relations. He capped a 12-year mainstream media work with an appointment to the Board of Directors of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in 2009.
He joined Vodafone in March, 2014 as Director of External Affairs and has responsibility for Regulatory and Government Affairs, Business Risk and Compliance, Legal Affairs, Corporate Security, Corporate Communications, Sustainability and CSR. He started journalism with the “Ghanaian Times” and worked variously as Presidential, Parliamentary and Court Correspondent, among others. He held various positions including News Editor of “Graphic Showbiz”, Deputy Editor of the “Evening News” and Acting Editor of the Ghanaian Times. Gayheart later joined Unilever Ghana Limited as PR Manager before heading to Barclays Bank as Communications Manager. He subsequently joined Tullow Oil Ghana as Communications Manager and later became Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. Three years on, Gayheart was appointed External Affairs and Communications Manager for Project TEN at the Group Head Office of Tullow in London, where he worked for almost two years.
Gayheart holds a Diploma in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, a Postgraduate-Diploma in Organisation Development from the University of Cape Coast, an MBA in Marketing from the Paris School of Graduate Management and an MSc. in Corporate Communications from the University of West London. He is married with two children and loves meeting people, football and listening to good music.
