Gloria Tengera
Gloria Tengera was appointed the Head of the Risk in April 2018 after having been at the helm of the Legal Department since 2015. The appointment comes at a time, the Bank is looking to set up an independent Risk function five years into its existence in the Rwandan market. Gloria Tengera was also tasked with setting up the Legal department when the bank had just started its operations in 2014.
Having joined the bank in October 2013 as a legal advisor and later appointed Head of the Legal Department in March 2015, Gloria has earned considerable experience and skills in legal complex problem solving. She has been involved in contract drafting and reviewing regulatory investigations and administrative concerns which ultimately gave her much needed exposure to the business side of the bank. This exposure further informed the decision to transfer her to the Risk Department.
Before joining the bank, she worked with other entities including an airline, government Parastatals, an NGO and the Ministry of Health in various capacities.
Gloria is a law graduate from the University of Rwanda and an LLM graduate in Business, Corporate and Maritime law from the University of Erasmus, Rotterdam in the Netherlands. She is also a holder of an advanced certificate in Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
