Goabaone Diteko

Goabaone Diteko has over five years’ experience in the health sector, with a focus in general and research nursing. Currently, Goabaone is pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health at the University of Kwazulu Natal (UKZN), South Africa. She is also a volunteer at YMCA, an NGO focused on youth empowerment for life, leadership, and service. Goabaone holds a Bachelor of Nursing Advance Practice qualification with a major in Nursing Management from UKZN. Goabaone participates in activities that aim to improve the quality of health among the vulnerable populations of women and children at a technical, policy, and strategic level. Her long-term goal is to join an international organization such as the WHO or UN, with the hope to be given a platform to positively impact global health. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Goabaone plans to share her newly acquired skills and knowledge with fellow volunteers at YMCA so that they also become effective change agents and leaders. Moreover, she plans on leading public health interventions in Botswana in the future
