Goitsemang Boitshoko Maano
Goitsemang Boitshoko Maano has over seven years in the field of community development. Goitsemang is a principal community development officer for Francistown City Council and supports the Trust For Community Initiatives Botswana Homeless and Poor People’s Federation, a community-based organization she founded in 2011. The organization educates and empowers under-resourced people with skills to actively participate in developing their livelihoods and their community rather than remaining passive and receiving project benefits. Her duties include mobilizing the community in education and empowerment, and advocating for partnership with relevant stakeholders for sustainable community development programs. Goitsemang holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) in Social Development from the University of Cape Town. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Goitsemang plans to continue her work by contributing towards building sustainable communities through sustainable initiatives and programs such as agriculture.
