Harivola Jenny Rasija
Harivola Jenny Rasija has over seven years of experience in the handicraft sector, primarily with woven bag crafts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Tourism from the National Institute of Tourism and Hotels (INTH), where she focused on sustainable development in the tertiary sector in Madagascar. Jenny is currently the chief executive officer of Razafindrabe Collections, a handicraft company promoting community development by harnessing the skills of female artisans in Madagascar(Africa) to create functional and contemporary products. Harivola Jenny Rasija advocates for these artisans, finding international buyers and selling the women’s products on the fair trade market. Jenny is committed to promoting and empowering women who are typically homemakers, without resources to send their children to school or buy household products. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she hopes to implement her newly gained skills, experience, and strategies to pursue her goal of growing her company so that it can offer adequate production facilities. She would also like to provide education to both to her employees and their children because she strongly believes that everyone has the right to education.
