Helina Stiphanos Teka
Helina Stiphanos Teka is an aspiring legal researcher from Ethiopia. She is currently interning at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where she supports the assessment of reports on the status of domestication of International Humanitarian Law instruments in Ethiopia. Helina is a 2016 graduate of Addis Ababa University, College of Law and Governance Studies and holds Bachelor of Laws, focusing on Public Laws. Before joining ICRC, Helina interned at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the African Union, where she complemented her interest in human rights and humanitarian laws with practical experience. She has also been participating in several initiatives which aim at women’s empowerment, free legal aid provision and peace building. After the Fellowship, Helina Stiphanos Teka plans to continue her engagement in the Human Rights and Humanitarian Law fields through academia in Ethiopia and beyond.
