Innocent Janna Kaliati

Innocent is a Sustainable Tourism Consultant based in Blantyre, Malawi. He is the current Executive Director of Malawi Tourism Council and Managing Director of Orbis Destination Management Company, specialising in sustainable, educational, philanthropic and experiential group travel to Malawi.

Innocent has 17 years of experience in the tourism industry, having worked in hospitality management for 9 years before switching to travel sector of the industry. Responsible tourism has always been at the heart of his experience and therefore he works to create unique African experiences while developing sustainable community development partnerships with the rest of the world. Innocent is also pioneering African Safaris that are linked to the UN SDGs.

With the wide tourism experience that Innocent has, he uniquely sits at the top of the tourism private sector agenda in his role at the Malawi Tourism Council to drive forward and lead in the conversation to do tourism differently in Malawi, and Africa at large.
