Ivan Augusto Laranjeira

Ivan Augusto Laranjeira is passionate about arts and culture. He is a professional tour guide, co-founder of Associação IVERCA Tours, a pioneer in cultural and environmental tourism in Mozambique. As one in the first group of young people ever to be university-trained in tourism, he puts a huge effort into creating sustainable development through tourism. Currently, he directs and curates the Mafalala Festival and Mafalala Walking Tour. The Mafalala project involves community brokerage and social entrepreneurship by including local businesses, artists, and community-based organizations in a broad responsible-tourism activity. He is also involved in social educational programs, community libraries, environmental awareness and professional training for youth.
