Jacob Tweufiilwa Hamutenya

Jacob Hamutenya has over five years’ experience in the agriculture sector, focusing on food quality analysis and agribusiness, especially the fresh produce marketing space. Currently, Jacob is a Regional Manager for the state-owned Agro-Marketing and Trade Agency (AMTA) in Namibia where he promotes market access for the local fresh produce farmers by providing cold storage and marketing facilities. Jacob Tweufiilwa Hamutenya also facilitates farmers’ capacity building through trainings and provides technical and logistical support in order to maintain quality, reduce post-harvest losses, and to ensure consistent supply to the markets. Jacob is committed to sustainable utilization of natural resources especially in horticulture sub-sector to ensure sustainable agribusiness models. Upon completion of Mandela Washington Fellowship, Jacob plans to continue working in agricultural marketing to enhance market access for local producers and promote value addition.
