Jacques de Ville

Jacques de Ville is Professor and Head of the Department of Public Law and Jurisprudence. He is the author of a number of publications in the area of public law, including Constitutional and Statutory Interpretation (Interdoc Publishers, 2000) and Judicial Review of Administrative Action in South Africa (LexisNexis/Butterworths, 2003). His research and publications currently focus on deconstruction, psychoanalysis and constitutional theory. This includes the translation of and contribution to a book on Legal Philosophy, a Special Issue of the International Journal for the Semiotics of Law on “Derrida, Semiotics and Justice”, and a book on Jacques Derrida and his relation to law. He is the holder of an Alexander von Humboldt fellowship, from 2007-2008.
