Jayne Chelsea Bango

Jayne Chelsea Bango is a medical doctor who graduated in 2016 from Chongqing Medical University in China. Born in the Republic of Congo, Chelsea has been volunteering as a general doctor in both public and private sectors, assisting in hospitals in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo(Africa), and Accra, Ghana. By practicing medicine, she was exposed to the problems facing youth in her community. She realized that youth were not future conscious and were losing hope for a better tomorrow. This reality became her core motivation as Jayne Chelsea Bango applied her knowledge of diagnostics to investigate the root cause, tackle the problem, and create solutions. Chelsea has gone out of her comfort zone, reaching out to young people of different backgrounds, getting involved in their lives, and helping in any way she can. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she aims to establish a structure that would focus on solving problems and issues facing youth in her community to prepare them for a better future.
