Jersia Livia Da C Dos Santos De Sousa
Jérsia de Sousa has two years’ experience in school management, focusing on finance, human resources, clerical tasks, school marketing, and facilities management. She also liaises directly with the Ministry of Education and other public schools to ensure that the academic curriculum is implemented. Currently, she is the administrative manager and co-founder of the Georgia Picilia Private School, providing affordable primary through high school education to low-income communities in Angola, reducing illiteracy. Jérsia holds a bachelor´s degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey and has five years’ experience in reservoir engineering, including management, simulation, and performance. Passionate about youth academic growth and development, Jérsia is committed to enabling access to affordable education, eradicating illiteracy and fighting against poverty and unemployment in Angola. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Jérsia plans to pursue a master’s degree in Management and Entrepreneurship and open new branches of her school across the country.
