John Richard Okoth

John Richard Okoth has over three years of experience in the community development sector, specifically focusing on HIV/AIDS. Currently, John is the executive director of Wing It Up Kenya, a community-based organization that designs and implements holistic empowerment programs geared towards transforming the lives of children affected by HIV/AIDS in slums and rural areas in Kenya. John Richard Okoth holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics with a focus in Finance from Kenyatta University. John is driven by a passion and commitment to fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic that is affecting families and rendering many children orphans in Africa. He wants to empower people, starting with children, to live a life beyond HIV/AIDS. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, John plans to continue his work with a focus on stigma eradication and education.
