Johny Bah’ogwerhe Muhindo

Johny Muhindo has over six years of experience in rural and urban health promotion. Currently, Johny is a medical officer at the Division of Social Affairs in South-Kivu in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. He coordinates health and education projects for people with disabilities (PWDs), liaising with partners interested in promoting the rights of PWDs and working with representatives of PWD organizations under his supervision. He holds a Doctor of Medicine from the Catholic University of Bukavu. Johny is driven by his commitment to fighting discrimination against PWDs in his community through health work. He aspires to join health decision-making bodies at the national level to build an accessible health system. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Johny plans to continue educating members of his community on equal treatment and the rights of PWDs.
