Julie Veevers is a Minerals Processing Corporate Account Manager for Solenis, working in the EMEA region.  Having graduated from the University of Huddersfield with an Honours degree in Chemistry, and now with over 27 years’ experience in the Chemical Industry, she has been working with the application of polymers in the Mining sector for over 15 years.  Her professional activities include working closely as part of customer project teams to facilitate process improvements, working towards sustainable solutions to face the challenges of the Mining industry in the fields of tailings management, solid-liquid separation and materials handling.  Recently Julie presented at the SME to discuss future technologies which could contribute to Net Zero in the iron and steel industry and also wrote a publication for the IBA discussing alternatives to cement in the recycling of metal-bearing fines.  Sustainable processes, achieving Net Zero and water conservation are topics close to her heart.  In her free time, Julie enjoys walking her dogs, entertaining friends and family with her husband, and is working towards her next grading in kickboxing
