Karabelo Florence Tsosane
Karabelo Tsosane has almost six years’ experience with NGOs that address HIV/Aids issues in Lesotho. She works at Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF Lesotho), where she helped establish and currently manages the medical laboratory. She has also volunteered and worked with organizations like Kick4Life and Lesotho Breast Cancer Network. After participating in Miss World 2010 and winning Miss Humanity International 2011, she co-founded a group called Sisters With a Purpose (SWAP), which was registered as an association in 2014. SWAP is mainly about empowering young women and giving them an opportunity to be agents of change in their communities and amongst their peers. Karabelo is also a biomedical technologist from the University of Johannesburg. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she plans to bring about feasible change and sustainability to SWAP and to continue to work with women and youth, and in HIV-related issues.
