Khorommbi Thomas Muthotho Sigidi

Khorommbi Thomas Muthotho Sigidi was appointed the acting Director-General in April 2012. His academic qualifications include a BA (Hons), a Master’s degree in Public Administration, a certificate in rural development pol icy and management and a technical teaching diploma. Starting out as a young Mathematics and Science teacher at Mbilwi High in Venda, South Africa in 1987, Khorommbi Thomas Muthotho Sigidi went on to teach Mathematics and Electrical Engineering at Thohoyandou High school where he was appointed acting principal in 1993.

He later lectured in Electrical Engineering and acted as head of the technical department before leaving teaching in 1998. Sigidi was subsequently appointed a regional manager, and later director for Institutional Development at the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS).

Other government positions include serving as general manager in the Department of Provincial and Local Government, municipal manager of Vhembe District Municipality, and deputy director-general at the Department of Cooperative Governance.
