Kim Szpiro

Kim Szpiro has worked at Cornell University in Ithaca New York USA for 15 years. Since February 2019 she has been the Associate Director for the Hanga Ahazaza Initiative at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. Kim oversees the upskill training of 1250 in the hospitality and tourism sector in Rwanda through online courses supported by local instructors based in Kigali.

Before beginning her role with the Hanga Ahazaza Initiative Kim worked in Admissions for Cornell’s graduate business school and before that she worked in clinical and epidemiology research with a focus on asthma.

Kim earned her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Nursing Science from Queen’s University in Canada. She is passionate about increasing opportunities in tourism in Rwanda through education.
