Kofi Owusu Boateng

Kofi Owusu Boateng represents the Ministry of Finance/Government of Ghana on the PBC Limited Board of Directors.

Kofi Owusu Boateng started his career in the Cocoa Industry with the then Produce Buying Division of the Ghana Cocoa Board (now PBC Ltd.) initially as an Administrative Officer subsequent to which rose through the ranks to become the Deputy Manager, Personnel in April, 1991 before proceeding to serve his Majesty, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu ɪɪ as Secretary from the year 1999.

During his stint with PBC, Mr. Kofi Owusu Boateng worked at various locations including Sunyani, Koforidua, Sefwi-Wiawso, Swedru as well as the PBC Ltd. and Ghana Cocoa Board head offices in Accra. He had previously also been a trainer of Commission Marketing Clerks (CMCs) on the Akuafo Cheque System and has participated in the 63rd session of the International Cocoa Organisation in London, UK in April, 2001 on ‘Sustaining the Global Economy in the new Millennium’.

Mr. Kofi Owusu Boateng was educated at the Mount Mary Training College, Somanya, the Advanced Teacher Training College, Winneba, the University of Ghana, Legon as well as at the University of Cape Coast from where he obtained a Master of Arts Degree in ‘Peace and Development Studies’.

From the years 1972 to 1974 Mr. Kofi Owusu Boateng worked as a History Tutor at the Techiman Secondary School. Prior to that, he had taught at St. Peters School, Kumasi from 1967 to 1970.

Mr. Kofi Owusu Boateng has attended a number of programmes for his continuing education including an Administration Management Course at GIMPA and a Course in General Administration organized by the University of Ghana Business School.

As Secretary to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Mr. Kofi Owusu Boateng, has been involved in a myriad of responsibilities including secretarial and administrative work as well attending to very important assignments which have enhanced his Managerial Competencies.

Mr. Kofi Owusu Boateng has also been in charge of welfare issues at Manhyia and managed the Asantehene’s schedules and appointments. He has travelled extensively with the Asantehene and has sat through important meetings and discussions with Heads of State, Ambassadors, Diplomats, Prominent Kings as well as Political, Religious and Traditional leaders.

Mr. Kofi Owusu Boateng is a Christian, has a passion for cocoa affairs, enjoys reading, discussing politics and global issues. His choice of music is highlife and the western cool music genre.
