Lesiba Alex Mahapa

A former senior police officer, Dr Lesiba Mahapa was appointed to his current position in November 2011. He holds a PhD in the Psychology of Education from the University of Johannesburg, a Master’s in the Psychology of Education, and a BEd degree in education, Training and Development. His other qualifications include a higher education diploma, a secondary teaching diploma and a post-graduate diploma in labour law. Dr Mahapa has more than 20 years’ experience in the public service. He started his career as an educator and sub-examiner in the Department of Education before joining the South African Police Service as a senior police officer tasked with training equity managers.
