Linda Grootboom
Mr Linda Grootboom has served in his current position since May 2009. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the former University of Port Elizabeth. Mr Grootboom began his career as a trainee process technician at Ford Motor Company. He then served as a marketing and distribution analyst for the automotive manufacturer before joining Eskom in Uitenhage, first as a marketing officer before becoming head of sales and customer services. In 1994 Mr Grootboom worked as a human resources advisor to the managing director of Ford Credit, and two years later he served as head of the Strategic Executive for Organisational Development and Transformation at the Eastern Metropolitan Council in Johannesburg.
At the end of 2001, he became chief director: Human Resources Key Accounts at the national Department of Justice and Constitutional Development. Seven years later Mr Grootboom joined the Western Cape provincial government as deputy director-general: Institutional Improvement and Development in the Office of the Premier.He was also the chief information officer for the Department of the Premier in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act.
