Lulama Nare
Lulama Nare is the Chairperson of Commission for Gender Equality. She has a degree in Industrial Psychology and Education with experience in Management, Evaluation and Knowledge management; Monitoring and Evaluation and Capacity Building. Conversant with ICT processes and overall convenor of the Nedlac Community Constituency. Commissioner Nare is the Deputy Chairperson at the National Skills Authority and head Of Department at the SADTU’s (South African Democratic Teachers Union) Gender Unit. She has a higher Education Diploma in Business Management and Education.
She is committed and passionate about issues of equality, civil and human rights; and that led her to pursue an activist role in various spheres of society. In her leadership capacities she works effectively with locally elected officials, organizations, churches, and citizens, garnering their support for civil rights and access of essential services within the Republic of South Africa. Lulama Nare is also a member of Presidential Working Group on the Global Economic Crises.
As part of her responsibilities as a Commissioner, she has served as the internal Chairperson of Human Resources Oversight Committee, member of the Research and Education Committee and as a member of the Information and Communications Technology Committee of the CGE. In her current tenure as Chairperson, Commissioner Nare sits on the Strategy Planning and Good Governance Committees.
