Magdeleen Cilliers

Magdeleen is the Research and Policy Officer at the South African National Seed Industry (SANSOR). She coordinates industry-related research to ensure a proactive response to industry hurdles as well as supporting the seed industry in Intellectual Property and Biotechnology policy matters. She received her PhD in Biotechnology in 2017 with a thesis title of ”The response of C! and C13 cysteine proteases in soybean nodules to drought” from the University of Pretoria. She is passionate about agricultural innovation and how technology and innovation can contribute to a thriving agricultural industry.
