Malusi Ngwenya

Malusi Ngwenya is one of the most outstanding people I know. An award winning resilient and purposeful human being who doesn’t take no for an answer but always finds a solution to make a difference in every space he occupies. Born and bred in Soweto, he was always ambitious to see his life turn around. He graduated from Johannesburg Business School in Entrepreneurship, Raizcorp Business School in Entrepreneurship and has plenty of certificates in marketing, youth development, graphic design, administration, supervisory management as well as a certificate in radio broadcasting. Mr Malusi Ngwenya is also a YALI alumni graduate and the course pushed him to focus on social ills and how to implement solutions that would leave the community better. In 2018 he left corporate to pursue his dream of running his business that would then add so much value to other businesses. Also as the first born, he wanted to change his situation at home as well as inspire his peers to see that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. 5 years ago he then started his business called Dlloyd Creative Enterprises, a business that provides barcoding, labelling, design and printing services. With this business he’s helped so many small businesses to get their products industry ready by using correct, compliant registered GS1 barcodes and labels helping them position themselves for retail and export so they are empowered to think bigger and scale in african countries and internationally. His business is not just profit orientated but it’s so purposeful as he has become the go to for most businesses that are starting products and so much more to get their logo, barcode, labelling and marketing collateral helping them fully equip themselves to grow and succeed. Nothing excites Mr Malusi as walking into a store and seeing many of his clients on the shelf as this takes him back to an AHA moment that this was once a concept and look now my clients are thriving cementing the Dlloyd brand as the brand that helps business comply and grow into different markets. Malusi Ngwenya is the epitome of resilience and strength as well as never giving up but believing in the vision till the end and he continues to inspire so many.

In his corporate years he won employee of the year, best department, started a department and grew it to massive bounds, was promoted to supervisor then manager all in a space of 7 years. After starting Dlloyd Creative he was then nominated by the Gauteng Premier winning best youth achiever for the empowerment work he does to empower businesses. Now known as the Barcode Guy, Dlloyd Creative also made finalist in the Eskom investment competition in 2019, Dlloyd Creative was also nominated as finalist by the Gauteng Productive awards 2019 for outstanding achievement in productivity improvement in the emerging sector. In 2022 he was also recognised by Raizcorp as an emerging entrepreneur that is bound to make a difference as his business has a profit and social care impact.

Malusi Ngwenya runs a foundation called Malusi Ngwenya Foundation, with this foundation he has helped young emerging designers, models, makeup artists and photographers to showcase their work as he also has a passion for the arts and for this work he has been recognised and won an award from the department of arts and culture. The Malusi Ngwenya Foundation in association with Dlloyd Creative also hosts youth empowerment programs that see the youth receive workplace skills at Dlloyd, helping empower them to be employable. They receive skills such as digital printing, graphic design, learning how to cut press for digital, administration, basic and advanced computer skills and so much more, by the time they’ve received these skills they are empowered to be either employed or to start their own businesses. Malusi Ngwenya is also a church youth leader. Not only does he make a difference outside but at home he’s also a pillar, an excellent example taking care of his mother and family, inspiring them to be the best version of themselves.

Malusi Ngwenya’s dad passed on when he was nine years old, Now as a kid this could have been a negative distraction to not be positively influential in the community but instead he chose to do great by his family, friends, community and country. He chooses to inspire, to help young people to see their potential, to be the difference that he wants to see in the world and for me that’s very inspirational, an unsung hero that chooses excellence on a daily basis.
