Maria da Conceicao Fernando Cabral
Maria da Conceicao Fernando Cabral has over two years’ experience in product development and quality control management. She works on the research and development of natural products at the MICAIA Foundation, a community development organization. Maria da Conceicao Fernando Cabral is also a quality control manager of baobab powder and oil production at Baobab Products Mozambique Lda (BPM) and honey production at the Mozambique(Africa) Honey Company. She received her bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering from the Catholic University of Mozambique. She primarily works on new product formulation, organic systems and good manufacturing practices training, and implementation of quality control systems. She currently works with over 900 women through the BPM value chain and is passionate about women’s empowerment through financial and professional inclusion. She is committed to continuing and improving her current work to provide more women with the opportunity to benefit from the baobab value chain. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she aspires to create new food production entrepreneurship projects that will support a Centre for Professional Skills Development for Women. The center will provide women with the necessary skills to be competitive and outstanding in the job market and business sector.
